You’ll want to focus on their legs or head, but make sure not to swing in the vicinity of the tank on their back. These guys are just as slow as your typical biters but have the added risk of a combustable gas-tank on their backs. One other basic you will come across is the gas-tank infected who is easily identified by the bright yellow hazmat suit. As long as you don’t panic, virals can be the easiest enemy to get rid of. They are fast but incredibly weak, so a quick kick will slow them down enough to deliver a finishing blow. Once up there just wait for the viral to climb and give them a swift kick. They have a telltale screech that precedes their arrival so once you hear that noise it’s best to get on top of a nearby vehicle or small building. What sets them apart from biters is not only their speed, but also their ability to traverse the city of Harran similarly to your own methods. Any loud noise, such as those from an explosion or firearm, will attract a number of these nasty critters. Virals on the other hand are ridiculously fast. If you’ve unlocked the stealth takedown skill you can throw a firecracker and quickly break the necks of an entire group without breaking a sweat. You can either make your way around them with ease or aim for the head with any melee weapon in order to quickly dispatch them. They will notice you if you get to close, but they are easily distracted and not too much of a threat if you keep your wits about you. The most basic type of infected you will be up against are biters and virals.Įach one possesses the same amount strength but the way they move affords each a different necessary approach.īiters in Dying Light are your typical, slow, TV zombie. Then there's the fact that some Achievements can only be achieved in group play.Your first zombie encounters in Dying Light will pit you against the basic level enemies in order to give you a feel of how these sorts of fights go. all of which are vastly easier with groups and ludicrously unbalanced against single players. Demolishers and their associated mobs that come with them (especially constant Viral swarms) So far I've seen single players be shafted in regards to:ġ. Demolishers further undermines what many posters on this board say to people who ask "can you play this game entirely single player?" They say "Yes" even though the real answer is definitely "No." But a group certainly could handle all those tasks a lot better by covering each other and dividing the duties.Īnd also the need for groups vs. I don't see how one single person is supposed to avoid constant Virals and huge mobs of normal zombies and the Demolisher and the Demolisher's projectiles all at the same time. Yes, I figured it might be balanced around group play, which is an especially bad design decision since it shafts all the GOG players who have no option to play in groups since the GOG Galaxy population is very low and this game has no Crossplay with Steam. Originally posted by Sasuke: play as a group helps alot Demolishers should have like a 25% chance to drop a gold weapon, for example. So this begs the question: what is exactly is the point of fighting the Demolishers? Why would I ever want to do that, given the aforementioned problems that come with it, coupled with the crappy rewards for beating them?Īnd if there is no good reason why, then the devs should patch this by nerfing the Demolishers and Virals and buffing the rewards for beating them. Certainly I don't get anything that would have been worth the time/effort/trouble/aggravation/ammunition loss/weapon durability loss/(many) medkits loss that I had to spend in order to take down the Demolisher. If I die, I lose like 4200 Survivor points. There's not enough time to use my medkit because animation to do that takes eons, and/pr I get interrupted before I can start the animation anyway. When I get surrounded, I die in less than 3 seconds. If they appear in front of a locked Rais crate, then if I try to fight them, then I get ganked by 5 Virals every few seconds, and dozens of normal zombies around them too. If they appear in a "Random Encounter" vs Survivors, the Survivors always die way before I can take out the Demolisher. I got to Old Town and I keep seeing Demolishers appear.
